Abstract

PURPOSE:To process homophones radidly, by displaying homophonic KANJI (chinese characters) to be processed simultaneously and selecting a desired proper KANJI, in the character processing device which converts KANA (Japanese syllabary) to KANJI. CONSTITUTION:In case that a homophone is selected for the display of a sentence due to KANA-KANJI conversion, homophones are retrieved from contents stored in a sentence buffer memory SB corresponding to the homophone indicated by a cursor, and a homophone table is generated and is transferred to a refresh memory 10 and is displayed in a sequence No of the homophone string together with the phonetic spelling. Consequently, anybody can obtain a desired homophonic KANJI easily and rapidly.
