Abstract
PURPOSE:To control the output voltage of a thyristor circuit at a constant level without causing any transient state and regardless of a sudden change of power supply voltage, by controlling the gate of a thyristor converter with the output of a constant voltage magnetic amplifier. CONSTITUTION:With the combination of a thyristor circuit that rectifies AC current and a constant voltage magnetic amplifier 4 that controls the gate of the thyristor, the wave crest of the voltage in a main circuit decreases with the reduction of power suply voltage Ea. On the other hand, the firing angle thetam increases according to the decrease of Ea by the function of the constant voltage for the output of the amplifier 4 which uses the voltage Ea as a power supply. As a result, the flowing angle thetaT of the thyristor also increases to keep the mean value of the output Ed of the thyristor circuit at a constant level regardless of the reduction of the Ea. Furthermore, no transient state occurs at the output side of the thyristor circuit which is controlled by the amplifier 4 although the power supply voltage has a sudden change.
