Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep the terminal voltage of a self-excited induction machine constant despite the fluctuation in the load on the machine, by connecting a reactor to the induction machine to absorb the excessive advanced reactive power of a capacitor and adding a thyristor rectifier and a turn-on circuit to the reactor to control the reactive power.
CONSTITUTION: The self-excited operation of the induction machine 6 is effected by power supply units 2, 4 and the capacitor 5. When the load upon the induction machine decreases, the advanced reactive power of the capacitor 5 becomes excessive and the terminal voltage of the machine 6 is going to rise. At that time, the turn-on circuit 13 for controlling a turn-on signal for a thyristor rectifier 12 is supplied with a signal by a transformer 7 and a comparator 14 to cause a heavy current to flow through the reactor 11 coupled in parallel with the capacitor. The terminal voltage of the induction machine 6 is thus kept constant. The transformer 7 detects the terminal voltage of the machine 6. The comparator 14 compares the detected terminal voltage with the signal of a setting unit 15.
