Abstract
PURPOSE:To keep stably the power-factor of a power supply side at a certain level, by giving variable control to a reduction of the power-factor caused by the reactive power of an AC power supply in the direction where the control angle of a separate-exciting reverse converter within an overvoltage suppressing device is compensated. CONSTITUTION:A reactive power detector 7 calculates both the reactive power and active power from the voltage and current of an AC power supply system 1 and extracts a reactive factor sinpsi from above-mentioned reactive and active powers and through a component analyzer 8. The factor sinpsi is compared through a power-factor controller 9 with the command value sinpsi* which is set by a power-factor setter 10 with a certain force factor. Then the phase of a separate-exciting adverse converter 4 of an overvoltage suppressing device is controlled to secure a constant detected value. In other words, the detecting signal psi is set at a negative value in case the power-factor angle has a loss and set at a positive value in case the power-factor angle has a gain, respectively. As a result, the loss or gain of the angle psi is decreased to obtain a desired power-factor.
