Abstract
PURPOSE: N-[5-(p-Nitrophenyl)furfurideneamino]-N-carbamoylglycine alkyl ester is heated to effect cyclization into 1-[5-(p-nitrophenyl)furfurideneamino]hydantoin.
CONSTITUTION: The reaction of a compound of formulaI(R1 is nitro) with another compound of formula II (R2 is lower alkyl; X is O) or with a hydrazinoacetic ester of NH2NHCH2COOR2 gives a compound of formula III. The product is made to react with isocyanic acid to give a novel compound of formula IV. Then, the compound is cyclized at 30W200°C in the presence of 1W 10mol of a condensation reagent per mole of the compound of formula IV to give the objective compound of formula V.
EFFECT: The yield is high.
USE: Muscle relaxant.
