Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve starting performance etc by heating mixed gas in an engine in which low volatile fuel such as alcohol is used. CONSTITUTION:Heating chamber 6 is equipped at the outer wall 20 of exhaust passage 18. The heating chamber 6 comprises box-shaped casing 6 which is monobloc cast with the outer wall 20 which forms the exhaust passage 18. Fuel inlet opening 6b are provided on the top and a side wall of the chamber just off the cooling water jacket 12. Therefore, the fuel is heated by exhaust heat while at the same time it is cooled by cooling water. Consequently, the occurrence of vaporlock can be repressed.
