Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve response to synchronous starting demands by a method wherein the failure of a synchronous starting is followed by a speed matching control by a second use of a power conversion starting unit. CONSTITUTION:A power conversion unit 21 supplies starting power to a synchronous motor 1. A synchronism indicating unit 8 puts out speed matching signals S1 to a speed regulating unit 22 so that the voltage, frequency, and the phase of the synchronous motor 1 may agree with those of a system bus 6 and, upon completion of agreement, outputs a synchronized closing signal S2. The synchronized closing signal S2 output closes a parallel operation breaker 7 and stops the power conversion unit 21 thyrister gate regulating signal. A synchronized close confirmation 9, upon a normal closing of the breaker 7, opens the starting breakers 4 and 5 and, when a closing is not normal, makes the interruption of the gate regulating signal output release after opening the breaker 7.
