Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the even electric charging for the toner to the desired charging polarity and charging quantity and then performing the development with use of this toner, by vibrating the insulated toner within the opposite plate- shaped spaces and by an AC electric field. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum sleeve 10 is set rotatably, and an electric charging member 2B made of an aluminum plate is set to be opposite to the outer circumference surface of the sleeve 10 via a charging space 3 of 1mm. thickness. Thus a toner layer of 0.1mm. thickness is led in by adjusting a control member 14 of toner lead-in quantity. The AC voltage of 2kHz frequency and 1kV voltage is superposed on the DC voltage of +100V to be applied to the sleeve 10. Then the VB and EB are set at zero and -100V respectively to cause an AC electric field in the space 3 and a developing region D each for the development. A rotary magnet is set within the sleeve 10 to ensure the charging development even with use of the magnetic toner.
