Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the flashover of a brush and the fusion loss of a brush holder by continuously monitoring the vibration of the slide of the brush contacted with the current collecting ring of a rotary electric machine. CONSTITUTION:A current collecting ring 2 is shrinkage fitted to a rotor 1 through an insulating cylinder, a brush 4 contacted with the ring 2 and a brush holder 5 for holding the brush are provided, and a holder bearing 6 for bearing the holder 5 is secured via a mounting plate 7. A noncontact vibration detector 10 for continuously monitoring the vibration of the brush 4 is secured via a mounting seat 11, thereby detecting the excessive vibration and detecting the initial stage of an abnormal phenomenon. Thus, an impossibility in the operation such as flashover, or burnout can be prevented.
