Abstract

The brushes are mounted near the machine's rotor. The device has a brush holder (42) guiding the brush (40) so that its whole lateral surface is accessible for a circulating cooling gas. A holder arrangement is mounted radially outwardly outwardly from the rotor, so that the brush unit can be removed. The brush holder has a pair of longitudinally extending rods which are inserted into bores in the brush. the holder arrangement comprises a cylindrical housing concentric to the rotor and with an opening through which the brush holder can be passed.
