Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove the partial deformation of a field coil, and to prevent superconducting breakdown by projecting a wedge insulator arranged between the field coil and a wedge from the end surface in the axial direction of the wedge and extending the insulator up to the lower section of a holding ring. CONSTITUTION:The superconducting field coil 3 is received into the groove of a coil mounting shaft 2, and the wedge 19 is inserted into an opening section through the wedge insulator 20 to hold the coil 3. In this case, the wedge insulator 20 is projected only by predetermined size C from the end surface in the axial direction of the wedge 19, and the projecting section is supported by the holding ring 16 fitted to the end section of the coil mounting shaft 2. Accordingly, the partial deformation of a section F corresponding to the end section of the wedge of the field coil 3 can be removed.
