Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a thin film magnetic recording medium suited to high density recording, by holding a thin film of alloy magnetic substance formed on a nonmagnetic base at a high temperature and causing spinodal decomposition. CONSTITUTION:After forming an alloy magnetic thin film of iron, cobalt. and chromium by a high-frequency sputtering method, heat treatment is made and a prescribed characteristic can be obtained. As a background base, sufficiently polished disc sintered high-purity alumina is used, a silicon carbide film of 20mu thickness is formed on the surface with the sputterming method, and surface polishment is made after heat treatment, and a silicon carbide film is formed further on it by the sputtering method. Next, after heat treatment, surface polishment is made and a silicon carbide film is formed by the sputtering method further on it. After heat treatment is made, sufficiently surface polishment is made.
