Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform and sufficient cleaning effect for a dielectric surface and prevent the variation of its characteristics by using the principal gas included in the composition of the final discharge gas as aging gas after is an auxiliary gas. CONSTITUTION:An already assembled panel is mounted on an exhaust stand, and exhaust and baking treatment are applied to it. Then the aging gas for which the additive concentration of auxiliary gas is smaller than the preset value, for example, Ne 100% aging gas is introduced and aging voltage is kept to be applied between all X and Y electrodes for the specified time. After this aging, the inner part of the panel is exhausted and for example, filled with the mixture gas in which Xe is added to Ne at a rate of 0.2% as the final discharge gas. Subsequently, a chip tube is released and the panel is completed. Thus a uniform and ample cleanug effect for the dielectric surface of the panel, can be achieved.
