Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible the stable electric discharge machining by a method wherein the noninflammable machining fluid is added with surface active agent to quickly discharge viscous bubbles generated during the electric discharge machining from the space between electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A large number of bubbles are generated by the chemical action occuring during the electric discharge machining in the electric discharge machining fluid supplied between the electrodes and accumulated between the electrodes as the viscous bubbles due to the viscosity of the electric discharge machining fluid. However, the addition of surface active agent to the electric discharge machining fluid lowers the surface tension of the viscous bubbles resulting in discharging the bubbles from the space between the electrodes without making the bubbles join together with each other to form large bubbles and the stable electric discharge machining can be possible.
