Abstract

PURPOSE:To speed up skip instruction execution by exercising control so that after instructions to be skipped are read out, a next instruction is read out immediately by eliminating the processing time required for the execution of the instructions. CONSTITUTION:An ROM1 stored with instructions, and a decoder 3, an encoder, a processing control part 7, etc., for the instructions are provided. For example, a skip instruction is read out of the ROM1 and fetched into an instruction register 2. The skip instruction is decoded by the decoder 3 and the result is inputted to a processing control part 7 through an encoder 4. Once the control part 7 generates a control signal C1 to set an inhibition part 5, the inhibition part 5 sends a signal C2 to control a gate 6. Then, a skip control part 9 is controlled to force a program counter 8 to go up by one. Thus, a next instruction is read out of the ROM1 without expending a processing cycle for instructions to be skipped.
