Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent coarseness, curl, etc. on the sheet surface which are to be caused during the fixing and at the same time to save the electric power, by setting a fixing set temp. of the 2nd side lower than the 2nd side when an image is formed. CONSTITUTION:The detecting temp. of thermistors 33 and 34 are set so as to make the surface temp. of a fixing roller 24 and a pressure roller 25 fix to 180 deg.C and 160 deg.C respectively in the warm-up mode, the stand-by mode or when a picture is formed on the 1st side (upper surface). The fixed temp. of the thermistors 33 and 34 are changed to 170 deg.C and 150 deg.C respectively by the ON signal of a copy button which is used to form a picture on the 2nd side (rear surface). At the same time, the supply voltage to heaters 24a and 32a functioning as the heating sources is lowered by a control part 35. Thus the surface temp. of the rollers 24 and 25 are controlled to 170 deg.C and 150 deg.C respectively.
