Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable sure fixing with lower electric power consumption by operating a heating means at the start of printing and maintaining the surface temp. of a fixing roller at a prescribed temp. only at the time of a printing operation. CONSTITUTION:A heater 1 is not energized even if a power supply is turned on. The heater 1 is turned on only when a print button is pushed. The heater 1 is kept at the temp. near the prescribed fixing temp. by a thermistor until the printing operation is completed. The capacity of the heater 1 is so set that the surface temp. of the fixing roller 2 is raised up to the prescribed fixing temp. after transfer paper 4 is delivered by a paper feeder upon running of a motor by the push of the print button before a toner image is transferred to the paper in a transfer part and the paper is sent to a fixing device. The sure fixing is thus executed at the time of the printing and in addition, the electric power consumption is reduced.
