Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the arc sounds generated on account of abrupt increase or decrease in arc current in pulse arc welding by connecting a charging capacitor in parallel to a flywheel diode connected to the output side of a switching element for pulse current. CONSTITUTION:At the sam instant of feeding a wire 1 to the direction of base metals 2, DC electric current is supplied through a rectifier circuit 5 and a base circuit 6 and further pulse current is supplied by driving a switching element 7. After the element 7 goes on, the current rises quickly but part thereof charges a capacitor 12 and therefore the rise thereof is gentle. After the element 7 goes off upon arriving of the current value at a prescribed value, the current decreases successively, but the electric charge accumulated in the capacitor 12 is released and therefore the degree of the decrease in the current is relatively gentle. Thereby, the arc sounds generated by the abrupt increase or decrease in the current are reduced.
