Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the generation of spatters and to perform good welding by connecting a by-passing circuit in parallel to the reactor of a pulse electric power source, and allowing the electric current to fall right after the globule transfer to base metals.
CONSTITUTION: At the fall of pulse electric current, the voltage across a reactor 82 is higher at the point Q than at the point P. Hence, if a trigger signal is fed to a by-pass circuit 13 by driving a trigger circuit 14 upon the final fall of the individual pulses from a pulse electric power source 12, the by-pass circuit 13 conducts. Hence, the energy accumulated in the reactor 82 is released to the circuit 13, and only the base current flows to an arc 4. As a result, the finl fall of the individual pulses of the welding current waveform goes sharp. Hence, no excess current flows right after the transfer to globule, and the spatters generated considerably in the fall part of the pulses are eliminated.
