Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the generation of spatters and to perform good welding by connecting a switching element to the output terminal of a pulse electric power source, and allowing the electric current to fall sharply right after the globule transfer to base metals by the pulse current.
CONSTITUTION: When electric current is supplied from a base electric power source 5 and a pulse electric power source 12 an arc 4 is generated between a wire 1 and base metals 3. If a switching element 13 is made conducting at the same instant of the final fall of the current pulse from the power source 12, the current from the power source 12 flows by by-passing the element 13 of low impedance and the fall of the pulse part of the arc current goes sharp. At this time, the current from the base power source 5 is prevented from by-passing to the element 13 by a diode 14, and flows between the wire 1 and the base metals 3, whereby the arc 4 is maintained. Hence, the spatters generated considerably in th fall part of the pulse are eliminated.
