Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a connection between unit cells to be performed in a limited space by extending the extreme ends of connection poles, which are provided for connecting the unit cells, above the upper end of a partition wall provided between the unit cells, and carrying out an arc welding after a low-resistance metal wire is pressed across the extreme ends of the connection poles. CONSTITUTION:In carrying out a over-partition-system connection in which unit cells are connected with a member placed over a partition wall 3 provided between the unit cells, a low-resistance metal wire such as a joining body 11 made of copper is pressed upon the extreme ends of cell-connection poles 9 and 10 that are made to protrude above the partition wall 3, and is welded to the extreme ends of the poles 9 and 10 by spattering arcs from an arc electrode 12. The distance between the arc electrode 12 and the welded part is adjusted to 5-10mm.; a welding current, to 1-5A; welding time, to 0.2-1.0 second. The joining body 11 is made of copper, and is preferred to be plated with pewter or tin. By the means mentioned above, the connection work can be carried out with high efficiency even in a narrow connection space. Besides, since no fluxes are used as in soldering, the joint parts are not corroded.
