Abstract
PURPOSE: To make welding of base materials of any materials possible by changing the inductance value of a DC reactor in a circuit in which pulse currents flow in accordance with the materials of the base metals.
CONSTITUTION: A welding device 10 is of the constitution wherein a DC reactor 42 having plural terminals 40a, 40b is connected in series to the output of a pulse power source part 14, and the output terminal 44 of the part 14 is selectively connected to said terminals 40a, 40b. In the case of welding, for example mild steel, a pulse current waveform of acute rise is necessary and therefore the output terminal 44 of the part 14 is connected to the terminal 40b of a small inductance value of the reactor 42. Since the pulse current waveform of acute rise is obtained by this connection, the peak value of the pulse current is increased by a control rectifier element built in the part 14, whereby the stable pulse arc welding of mild steel is accomplished.
