Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate disposal of separated sludge by a method wherein preliminary aeration treatment is carried out between reducing treatment by aerobic activated sludge and succeeding aeration treatment and taking-out of the activated sludge is carried out only after aeration treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Raw night soil in a storage tank 1 is supplied to a digestion tank 3 through a pretreating apparatus 2 and air or the like is blown thereinto from an air supply passage 4 and BOD is lowered by the action of aerobic activated sludge to nitrify an ammoniacal nitrogen component therein. The treated water from the nitrifications tank 3 is supplied to a preliminary aeration tank 6 and an oxygen containing gas such as air or the like is blown thereinto from an air supply passage 7 to promote the digestion of the activated sludge and, after digestion, the digested sludge is supplied to the aeration tank 8. In the aeration tank 8, diluting water is added from a water supply passage 9 and air or the like is blown thereinto from an air supply passage 10 to sufficiently lower BOD and the activated sludge is separated from water to be treated from the aeration tank 8 by a precipitation tank 11 and fresh water is subjected to a tertiary treatment such as discharge, reutilizing, decoloring treatments or the like.
