Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the trouble due to carbon dioxide generated in the treatment of coagulating precipitation by providing pH controlling apparatus of water to be treated and an aeration apparatus, and degasifying carbon dioxide generated by injecting sulfuric acid for pH control.
CONSTITUTION: A second treated water 2 is supplied to a degasification tank 1. When the alkalinity of the second treated water 2 is high, an appropriate amount of sulfuric acid is introduced into the degasification tank 1 from an agent-supply device 3 to adjust the pH to the proper value. Hydrocarbons present in the second treated water are decomposed by the added sulfuric acid and carbon dioxide is generated, and is aerated by supplying air through an air-dispersion tube 6 of an aeration tank 5. The bubble of carbon dioxided generated in the degasification tank 1 grows and comes up to the surface. Thus, the pH of the treated water in the degasification is controlled and the generated carbon dioxide is degasified in order to eliminate the trouble due to carbon dioxide in a next stage, before the treated water is subjected to a next coagulating precipitation treatment.
