Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently purify a polluted water area with a simplified installation, by settling a hollow open-bottom structure into the medium bottom layer of the polluted water area, and injecting oxygen gas having a higher pressure than that at its depth through the bottom of the structure.
CONSTITUTION: A structure 1 is sunk at a predetermined depth of a polluted water area. At this time, a plug 2 is advantageously detached from an air hole 3, to facilitate the operation. When the depth of water is 10m or more, the pressure of oxygen gas is adjusted at 2atm. or more with use of a pressure-reducing valve and discharged. The water inside the structure 1 is excluded by the gas discharged through the bottom, and dispersed vigorously into the circumferential water, because the oxygen concentration of the water into which oxygen is forcedly, dissolved is quite different from that of the polluted water. Consequently, the water level in the structure 1 fluctuates violently. Its impact is relaxed by the arrangement of an overflow pipe 5. Thus, an oxygen gas layer is formed inside the structure 1 and maintains a direct contact with the water surface and reaches an equilibrium with it.
