Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the sliding of a negative electrode and separator during fabrication and to improve the reliability by combining pressing and a negative active material and separator on the inside of a battery container which serves also as a negative terminal. CONSTITUTION:A gasket 7 is combined with an upper container 6 which serves also as a negative terminal, a negative active material 5 comprising a lithium sheet and a separator 4 comprising a polypropylene nonwoven fabric are inserted in the inside surface, and the separator 4 is pressed onto the container 6 to combine. Then electrolyte is poured, a positive assembly comprising a positive pellet 3, positive collector 2, and bottom container 1 is combined, and it is calked and sealed tightly to form a battery. Thus the negtive electrode 5 will not slide from the separator 4 due to vibration during fabrication and the short- circuit will not occur, the reliability and productivity of the battery can be improved.
