Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove oxide films generated on stainless steel without use of strong acid solution by sticking abrasive grains with a specific diameter to a grinding cloth belt with elastical particles with a certain specific diameter interposed. CONSTITUTION:This grinding cloth belt is made by sticking elastic particles 3 in sizes 0.1-1.5mm. on a base 1 using an adhesive 2 and over it abrasive grains 4 in sizes 40-500mum are stuck. As material for said elastic particles 3 is used for example vermiculite, cork, rubber, wood shavings or plastics. A grinding cloth belt 6 as in the above arrangement is loaded on a belt grinder machine 7 and operated at a belt's linear speed of 500-3,000m/min in a specific grinding pressure range.
