CONSTITUTION: An analgesic agent containing a benzanilide derivative of the formula (R1 and R2 are H, halogen, 1W5C alkyl or trifluoromethyl) and a salt thereof as an active constituent. The compound of the formula has improved anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions with very low toxicity, and is usable as an oral agent, e.g. tablet, powder or capsule. The effective amount for an adult at a time is 50W200mg, and the number of administration times is 3W4 per day. The compound of the formula is partially well known as a raw material for dyes.
