PURPOSE: A hypoglycemic agnet with low toxicity, administrable for a long term preferably per os, and containing procainamide hydrochloride as an active constituent.
CONSTITUTION: A hypoglycemic agent containing procainamide hydrochloride of the formula as an active constituent. The compound of the formula well known as a remedy for arrythmia has been found to have also hypoglycemic action, and is administrable for a long term with low toxicity. The compound of the formula may have any administration form, preferably oral one. The daily dose of the active constituent for a man is 2W120mg/kg, preferably 10W60mg/kg.
