Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the mass and the flow rate of powder body by providing two sets of detectors which detect the concentration of the powder body in two phase liquid in upstream and downstream with a specified distance being provided, measuring the flow speed and the like of the powder body, and concurrent ly measuring the flow speed and the concentration of the powder body by the same detector. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 2 wherein the two phase liquid 1 including the powder body flows comprises electrical insulating material. Two pairs of opposing electrostatic electrode plates 31 and 32 and 41 and 42 are provided along the outer wall of said pipe 2 with a specified distance being provided. The electrostatic capacities generated between the electrostatic electrode plates of the pairs are converted into corresponding voltages e1 and e2 by electrostatic capacity detecting circuits 51 and 52. the voltage e1 is obtained earlier than e2 with respect to the same part of the fluid. The voltage e1 is delayed and compared with the following voltage e2. The result is supplied to a correlation type flow speed circuit 6, wherein the flow speed is computed from the delay time whose feedback is controlled so as to obtain the maximum correlation. Thus the flow speed of the two phase fluid 1 is obtained. the concentration of the powder body is obtained from the average value of the voltages e1 and e2. The amount of the powder body in the two phase fluid 1 is computed in a multiplying circuit 8 by using said flow speed and concentration.
