Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase mechanical strength by interposing a reinforcement member between two transparent substrates each having a recording layer inside. CONSTITUTION:Protective layers 4A and 4B are fitted to one-side walls of recording layers 3A and 3B, and a reinforcement member 6 made of a metallic plate of aluminum, ''Duralumin '', etc., is interposed between the protective layers 4A and 4B. A hollow part 9 is formed between the outer circumferential part of the reinforcement member 6 and an external spacer 8 to prevent the generation of strain due to a difference in a coefficient of thermal expansion between the reinforcement member 6 and the transparent base plates 2A and 2B caused by temperature fluctuations. The surface of the member 6 is galvanized in black so that light transmitted through the recording layers 3A and 3B is not reflected by the surface. The reinforcement member 6 slides on the protective layers 4A and 4B freely, so no strain is generated even when there is a difference in coefficient of thermal expansion.
