Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity for recording, by providing a plastic intermediate layer, which is transparent to a recording light, between a recording layer and a metallic thin film having a high reflection factor which are provided on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A metallic thin film 2 which does not change the state for the recording light and has a high reflection factor is provided on a substrate 1. Consequently, the recording light is not transmitted through the substrate to make the recording on both sides possible. A recording layer 4 consists of a metallic, semimetallic, or chalcogenide compound thin film, and a recording layer 5 consists of an organic compound thin film having the porphyrin nucleus. A layer 3 is the plastic intermediate layer which does not absorb the recording light, and the heat energy absorbed to recording layers is diffused to this layer 3 through the metallic reflection layer to prevent the lowering of the recording sensitivity. Plastics having a thermal conductivity lower than that of the metallic reflection layer are used.
