Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of reflected stray light and to obtain high SN by providing an underlying layer having <=2% reflectivity under an optical recording layer viewed from an incident side near the optical recording layer in an optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A transparent substrate 1 consisting of polycarbonate is used and track grooves 2 are formed thereon by thermal transfer with a stamper mold. The optical recording layer 3 consisting of a polymethine dye is provided in the grooves 2. On the other hand, polycarbonate is used for a card substrate 5 and the underlying layer 10 formed of ink incorporated therein with carbon black is provided in the effective recording part. The substrates 1 and 5 are thermally adhered by an adhesive agent consisting of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer system to complete the medium. Resins such as acryl and polyester are used for the transparent substrate 1 and polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, etc., are used for the card substrate. A dioxane compd., etc., or oxides of Te, Mo, etc., are used for the optical recording layer. Materials which have <=2% reflectivity of laser light in the medium, do not deteriorate the adjacent layers 3, 4, 5 and are free from deformation, decoloration and heat conduction by laser light are selected for the layer 10.
