Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the elongation of a rotor at a high reliability by checking variations in the quantity of reflected light with a microlens arranged sandwiching a wheel to project and receive light through an optical fiber while the radially vertical surface of the wheel mounted on a turbine 6 is made flat mirror. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from a LED8 driven by a LED driver circuit 9 is projected to a mirror surface 4 of a wheel 2 by way of an optical fiber 6, a beam splitter 7 and a rod lens 5, the reflected light returns to the beam splitter 7 and a rod lens 5, the reflected light returns to the beam splitter 7 and input into a PIN photodiode 10. As a turbine rotor 1 elongates, the wheel 2 moves in the radial direction of the rotor to cause a difference in the quantity of the reflected light which enters a pair of photodiodes 10. The outut of the photodiode 10 is input into an arithmetic device 13 via a light receiver 11 and an elongation signal of the rotor 1 is output to a recorder 15 and a alarm setter 16 thereby enabling th detection of the elongation of the rotor 1 at a high reliability.
