Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the rotation angle of a rotating object without returning it to its reference position and also improve the detection accuracy of the rotation angle by projecting a light beam from the periphery of the rotating object through a light transmitting means towards photoelectric converters. CONSTITUTION:A light beam projected from a light emitting diode 22 to a light receiving window 15 provided at the center of a rotating disc 14 is transmitted to the periphery of the rotating disc 14 through an optical fiber 17, a light transmitting means provided for the rotating object, and projected from a light projecting window 16 provided there to one of the photoelectric converters 20...20 positioned on a circle. The photoelectric converter 20 to which the light beam was projected outputs an electric signal, detecting the rotation angle of the rotating disc 14.
