Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform developing with high image density by providing a ferromagnetic material via a recording body thereby paralleling the magnetic lines of force of a magnetic brush and increasing the particle density in the developing region of a magnetic developer. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 5 consisting of a non-magnetic material is provided above a developing guide 3, and the lowermost part of the outside circumferential surface of the sleeve 5 is placed in proximity to the surface of recording paper 1 passing through a developing guide 3. A magnetic roll 6 is contained in the sleeve 5, and this magnetic roll is formed alternately with plural S poles and N poles on its outside circumferential surface. A magnetic developer 8 is conveyed on the sleeve when either one of the sleeve 5 or the roll 6 is rotated. A ferromagnetic material 9 is disposed on the rear surface of the developing guide. The ferromagnetic material may be a magnet, and if this magnet is rotated, a magnetic brush oscillates, whereby good results are obtained. The magnet may be an electromagnet.
