Abstract

An image developing machine uses a magnetic brush with magnetic toner for development of a latent image. The magnetic toner 1 is supplied from a toner container 2 to the surface of a rotatable non- magnetic drum sleeve 4 and fed around the surface so that a magnetic brush of the magnetic toner 1 is formed. Within the drum sleeve 4 is provided a multipolarized permanent magnet 5 for carrying the magnetic toner 1. At least one pole 6 which takes part in development of the latent image on a drum 7 is disposed offset by eight to 24 degrees from the closest position between the drum sleeve 4 and the drum 7. The strength of magnetic field generated by the pole for development is between 800 and 1400 gauss at the surface of the drum sleeve 4. <IMAGE>
