Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve lamination workability and fabrication characterustics by reinforcing a polarizing blank film with a biaxially oriented film of terephthalate type polyester having >=130 deg.C thermal deformation temp. CONSTITUTION:A transparent film to be laminated on a polarizing blank film is ought to have >=80 deg.C, more preferably >=130 deg.C thermal deformation temp. in order to withstand the heat treatment during sticking of a transparent conductive film by sputtering. Unless its retardation value is <=30mmu, an adequate visual angle as a panel decreases, and interference fringes are produced. A polyester film such as polyethylene terephthalate or polytetramethylene tare phthalate is laminated on the other surface of the polarizing blank film. The transparent conductive film is provided on the open surface side of the laminated film, whereby this is made usable as a panel material for liquid crystal display devices and is suited for thin filming and continuous production (longer sizing of films) of panels.
