Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce time for inspection and to improve workability by measuring time required by radiation energy of infrared rays emitted by a material to be welded to arrive at a specified state and thereby deciding the quality of welding.
CONSTITUTION: All the radiation energy of infrared rays converged by a lens 22 is detected and measured by a detector 24 and amplified by an amplifier 26. The amplifier 26 is connected to a linealizer 28 that converts all the radiation energy of infrared rays generated from a lead wire 14 to surface temperature of the lead wire 14. The output from the linealizer 28 is sent to a waveform processor, and time t1 from inputting of energizing signal P to electrodes 16, 17 to detection by the waveform processor 30 is detected and measured by a counter 32. Time t1 is then compared with time t2 set by a reference time setting circuit 36, and the quality of welding is decided by a differential amplifying circuit 38 that makes differential amplification.
