Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a one-pack type epoxy resin, having a long pot life, curable by heating at a medium temperature, and having improved water resistance, etc., by curing a specific polyepoxy compound with an adduct of an imidazole with allantoin.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. polyepoxy compound having one or more epoxy grous groups in the molecule on an average, e.g. bisphenol A, is incorporated with preferably 0.5W20pts.wt. adduct of an imidazole with allantoin, e.g. an adduct of 2-methylimidazole, with allantoin, as a curing agent to cure the epoxy resin. In the process, a pigment, a flame retardancy imparting agent, plasticizer, etc. may be added thereto.
