Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize the high efficiency of working and to increase the accuracy of measurement with formation of an even adhering layer or sound absorbing layer, by using a both-side adhesive for the attachment of a sound absorbing material to the inner wall of a pipe of a flow meter main body through which a fluid to be measured passes. CONSTITUTION:A sound absorbing material such as a nonwoven fabric, is stuck to the inner wall of a flow meter main body through which a fluid to be measured passes via a both-side adhesive. Thus the occurrence of a standing wave which is caused by the reception of ultrasonic waves can be prevented. For instance, a vortex generating mechanism 3 is provided within a flow path comprising an enlarged opening part 1, a throttle part 9, a straight pipe part 2, etc. Then an ultrasonic vortex detecting mechanism 5 consisting of an ultrasonic transmitter 6 and an ultrasonic receiver 7 is attached at the downstream part of the mechanism 3. In such a way, a flow meter is obtained. A sound absorbing material 11 such as a nonwoven fabric, which is porous and has a number of cavities (continuous bubbles) distributed with large surface density is stuck to the inner wall of the flow meter via a both-sided adhesive.
