Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure a penetrated wave, reflected wave and scattered wave of an ultrasonic wave by providing a device, which flows a fluid to be measured to the detecting unit, to control the flow quantity and flow rate and by detecting and measuring the fluid continuously while flowing it at a fixed optimum flow quantity and flow rate.
CONSTITUTION: The fluid 2 to be measured flows in the pipe 1. The transmitter 3 and receiver 4 are provided to the pipe 1 and are opposite to each other. A high frequency wave from the oscillator 5 is applied to the transmitting vibrator 8 through the modulator 6 and amplifier 7 to vibrate it, the vibration energy is given to the fluid 2 through the transmitter horn 3, the signal propagated to the receiver horn 4 is measured by the Braun-tube oscilloscope 10 through the vibrator 11 and the amplifier 9. Also the fluid 2 is fed to the device by the pump 12. A penetrated wave of the ultrasonic wave applied to the fluid to be tested is detected by the receiver 4, a part of the wave is reflected, scattered and absorbed by solid bodies, mud and microbes in the fluid, the other wave penetrates through the fluid and is detected by the receiver 4 to measure the state of fluid 2.
