Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure temperature of a moisture sensing element assembly at the same time when taking measurement of the humidity, by forming the moisture sensing element assembly in such a manner that a thermistor functions as an electrode on one side. CONSTITUTION:After a pair of platinum pastes were baked on a heat-resisting alumina sintering plate, a thick-film paste prepared by kneading a mixture of thermistor-making material powder and brinder is coated and baked to form a thermistor layer. A moisture sensing paste, which is prepared by kneading a misture of pulverized material of a moisture sensing element assembly and an appropriate binder, is coated on this thermistor layer, and it is baked to form a thick-film moisture sensing element assembly. On the surface of this moisture sensing element assembly, a gold electrode made of gold paste is provided. In the case of thus manufactured moisture sensing element, temperature of the moisture sensing element assembly is measured by a pair of electrodes attached to the thermistor, and at the same time, the humidity at this temperature is measured by electrical resistance between the electrode provided on the thermistor and the gold electrode provided on the surface of the moisture sensing element assembly.
