Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure temperature at the same time when taking measurement of the humidity, by employing at least one platinum electrode for a pair of electrodes to be attached onto the both sides of a moisture sensing element, and also by attaching a small-diameter platinum-rhodium wire to this electrode. CONSTITUTION:A pair of electrodes, which are to be used for detecting electrical resistance of a moisture sensing element assembly, are formed on the both sides of a plate-like body which is formed by sintering of metallic oxides, such as, Cr2O3 and Fe2O3, etc. A platinum electrode is employed for one of this pair of electrodes. This platinum electrode, by being provided with small-diameter platinum-rhodium wire by such a process as thermal pressing, etc., is to become a thermocouple for detecting temperature of the moisture sensing element assembly. In the case of thus manufactured moisture sensing element, temperature of the moisture sensing element assembly is measured by the thermocouple consisting of a small-diameter platinum-rhodium wire, and also the humidity at this temperature is measured by a pair of electrodes provided on the both sides of of the moisture sensing element assembly.
