Abstract
PURPOSE: To set the capacity of a storage tank to be such that the function thereof can be fully displayed, by a method wherein a water treatment device is comprised of a falling passage, a rising passage, a storge tank and a pump line, and the capacity of the tank is set at a specified number of times of the sum of the capacity of the falling passage and the capacity of the rising passage.
CONSTITUTION: Water to be treated is circulated through the falling passage 1 which is relatively deep, for example, about 10W100m in depth, the rising passage 2, the storage tank 3 and the pump line 4 while continuously or intermittently supplying the water via a supply passage 5. Simultaneously, oxygen gas is dissolved in the water in the falling passage 1, and the treatment of water for lowering the biological oxygen demand (BOD), for denitrification or the like is performed by the action of a high-concentration activated sludge under the supply of a large amount of oxygen. Then, debubbling for carbon dioxide gas and nitrogen gas and a load adjustment are conducted in the tank 3, and clear water or water to be fed to the next treating step is recovered from a water discharge passage 9 of a solid-liquid separator 7.
