Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect a defect at a screw part in a quick and accurate way, by cutting a part of the screw part provided to the main body of a defect detector and then mounting a detection coil having a screw surface corresponding to the cut so that a continuous screw surface is formed at the cut area. CONSTITUTION:A screw part 4 to be fitted to another screw part 3 formed on the inner surface of a female screw 2 to be inspected is formed at an edge side of the main body 1 of a defect detector which inspects the female part. The screw thread is cut at a part of the part 4 to accept a detection coil 7 having a surface 6 corresponding to the screw surface. Then the main body 1 is fitted to the screw 2 and turned. Thus the gap between the coil 7 and the screw surface is almost equal between the projected part and the hollow part of the screw part since the tip form of the coil 7 is corresponding to the form of the thread of the screw 2. Thus the defect of the screw 2 can be detected with high accuracy by making use of the leaked mangetic flux.
