Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus for detecting flaws on the surface of metal tape, in which light is scanned on the surface of metal tape and quantity of light refiected therefrom is detected by light receiving element, and at the same time a light receiving element for cancelling edge signal is provided, whereby flaws in the vicinity of edges can be detected.
