Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable correct detecting of even a stained part and an oxidized part of a wiring part through the increase in a difference in reflection rate between the wiring pattern and an insulating material, by performing an optical detection by use of light having a given wave length. CONSTITUTION:If a printed wiring boardIis irradiated with light with a wave length of 600-1,400nm from a light source 3, a difference in reflection rate between the insulating base material of the substrate 1 and a wiring pattern is large to the wave length, and thereby reflection light from a wiring pattern part is collected by a detector 7 by means of a better resolution to detect a wiring pattern through comparision with a reference value. This permits aaccurate detecting of even the stained part and oxidized part of the wiring pattern.
