Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a creamy rust remover contg. H2O2 stably by immersing abrasive powder in an aqueous sulfuric acid soln. contg. N-methyl-2-pyrolidone, adding a surfactant to the soln. to form gel, and mixing the gel with an aqueous H2O2 soln. CONSTITUTION:Abrasive powder of calcined alumina, molten alumina or the like is immersed in an about 10-30% aqueous sulfuric acid soln. contg. about 2-5% N-methyl-2-pyrolidone. About 0.02-0.05% colloidal silica to the total amount and polyoxyethylene fluorocarbon as a surfactant are added to the soln. to form gel, and the gel is mixed with a 30% aqueous H2O2 soln. The amount of the H2O2 soln. is 5-10% to the total amount. By treating the abrasive powder with the sulfuric acid soln. contg. N-methyl-2-pyrolidone, a creamy rust remover causing no decomposition of the added H2O2 is obtd.
