Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the heating function of a heater due to the thermal deformation and to simplify the structure, by providing the electronic buffle function to the starting electrode while supporting said starting electrode and a heater for heating the hollow cathode with same supporting member. CONSTITUTION:A supporting rod 21 is inserted through an orifice section 3 into a hollow cathode 1 while a starting electrode 22 is fixed to the end at the anode side 2 of siad supporter 21 and a hook 23 for securing a heater 6 is fixed in the hollow cathode 1 in said supporter 21. The starting electrode 22 is connected through the supporter 21 to an exchange switch 24 which causes the connection to the hollow cathode 1 or through a start limiting resistor 12 to the positive side of a power source 11. Consequently the deterioration of the heating function of the heater due to the thermal deformation can be prevented and the structure can be simplified.
